Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Scott Nelson's home, 7:00 p.m.
Please contact the church office for directions.
It doesn't get any more traditional than this…
If you want a minor consumer riot complete with ample snacks and libations
and fine conversation get ready for the 11th Annual Young Adults' Holiday
Party. You and your friends are all invited!!!
Here are the rules: There are no rules. There are only suggestions. There
will be no large individuals present with bulging holsters to enforce anything.
There are no grades, nor will your parents ever find out anything that
happens and think less/more of you for it. Please do not succumb to performance
anxiety. It is a party, after all.
The suggestions remain the same: Gifts are to be wrapped, and should cost
you less than $10. It doesn't have to cost you $10 or anything near
that figure. It can be outright junk as long as it's funny; if it's
not funny YOU will be laughed at. Feel free to recycle
really strange gifts that you want to unload. Just remember who gave it
to you, so that you don't accidentally bring something that someone
at the party may have given to you. That would be embarrassing!
It always helps to have a few gifts that people actually desire. If there
aren't some of those then the whole exchange gets kind of awkward
as nobody trades for anything and we don't want that. We want action!
Bake something yummy, bring a good second-hand book, be creative. Don't
worry, there will be plenty of castaways. I know this group.
Please bring food to share. Have fun shopping or exploring.Bill Maury-Holmes
