Reverend Shawn Zambrows, D.Min
Pastor Shawn grew up in Los Angeles and spent the first part of her ministry serving concurrently as Co-pastor of Temple Baptist Church and as American Baptist Campus Minister at the University of Southern California. In 1999 she moved to West Lafayette, Indiana, to serve as the Pastor and Director of the Baptist Student Foundation at Purdue, the American Baptist affiliated campus ministry at the university. Pastor Shawn has her B.A. in Classical Civilizations from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her MDiv and DMin from Fuller Theological Seminary. She is married to Rod and has two grown children. On May 1, 2016, Shawn began as Senior Pastor here at First Baptist Church of Redlands.
Reverend Deena Barwick,
Associate Pastor of Family Ministries
As an organizational psychologist, Pastor Deena brings a unique combination of organizational as well as nurturing skills to her position. She has served on staff at First Baptist since 2000, and with her leadership, the Children's Ministries more than doubled their programs and participants in three years. She currently supervises more than 60 Children's Ministries volunteers. She has four grown children and four grandchildren, whom she delights in at every opportunity. She recently retired from her job as an associate professor at California Baptist University.
Minister of Music
Richard has been the Minister of Music at First Baptist Redlands since 1985. His skills as an organist, pianist, vocalist and director have contributed greatly to the enjoyment of a comprehensive church music program. Richard is a retired teacher who served for 29 years as the director of the choral activities and performing arts department at Riverside Poly High School. Richard has his undergraduate degree from Taylor University, a Christian liberal arts university in Indiana. His master's degree is from Butler University in Indianapolis. Richard’s family enjoys being involved at FBCR.
While attending California Baptist University, Linda studied organ with Gerard Faber. Upon receiving her B.A., she continued her organ studies with Dorothy Hester. Her recitals were given at First Congregational Church and First Methodist Church, Riverside, California. With over 36 years of experience as church organist, she has served at Magnolia Presbyterian Church, Riverside; St. Stephen's Episcopal, Sun City; Christ Church, Fallbrook; and St. Catherine's, Temecula to name a few. She is a past secretary of the Inland Empire American Guild of Organists. Linda has served on FBC Redlands staff since September 2009.
Angel grew up in the heart of Los Angeles, and contrary to popular belief some people from L.A. actually turn out "normal." She can be described as cheerful with a sunny disposition. Prior to joining The First Baptist Church of Redlands Angel worked in finance in the private business sector. Since joining the church staff in April 2008, she has become a regular attendee. When not at work or church Angel enjoys reading and the great outdoors.
Interim Communications Specialist
With her degree in Media Arts and Animation, Laci always loves telling stories and creating imaginative layouts and designs to go with them. She loves using her skills to serve her church community, and hopes you like what you see here on the website, in event flyers, in the weekly bulletins, and the monthly Tapestry!
Buildings and Grounds
The First Baptist Church of Redlands has seven commissions elected by the congregation to provide leadership in different areas of our church ministry. The commission system enables our church members to be personally involved in the ongoing ministry of the church and to develop special skills and expertise in vital areas of service.
Responsible for the church's educational ministries and programs // Meets every second Tuesday in the Mezzanine Classroom at 7 p.m.
Provides spiritual and pastoral care to the church family // Meets every second Tuesday in the Lounge at 6:30 p.m.
Finance and Property
Responsible for the financial administration and property of the church // Meets every second Tuesday in Judson Hall at 7 p.m.
Leads the Church programs dealing with local service and evangelistic opportunities // Meets every second Tuesday in the Library at 7 p.m.
National and World Missions
Promotes national and global mission service // Meets one Sunday a month in Judson Hall at 11:45 a.m.
Pastoral and Staff Relations
Addresses professional and lay staff issues and concerns // Meets as needed in the Pastor's Office at 7 p.m.
Supports the worship life of the congregation // Meets every second Tuesday in the Board Room at 7 p.m.
